Santa Claus will open the doors of his chalet, in the heart of an enchanted forest, where many little elves make the fi nal preparations for the grand tour of our chimneys on the 24th of December.Included in the week in which dreams come true: drawing competition, Christmas concert, snow sculptures, arrival of Santa Claus, shows and free snacks for the children, grand Christmas parade, fireworks...

For this time , the Portes du Soleil resorts will host an unusual event, uniting the best mushers in the world: «La Grande Odyssée». It is a longdistance race inspired by the legendary Yukon Quest and Idirarod. This has been the first widespreading event in the Alps since the end of the Alpirod: a virgin territory for mushers from all over the world, never crossed by any sledge dog.
Several races are programed in this event, with a departure from the heart of the village. The Grande Odyssée will be the bigest event of the week; you will fi nd for the whole family animations, spectacles, exhibitions...
A stage of the Grande Odyssée will take place in Les Gets on Tuesday 10th January 2011.

Great Outdoors Music Festival

From 2-9 April 2011, the Portes du Soleil is proud to announce the inaugural Great Outdoors Music Festival “Festival des Concerts Sauvages”.

With its unique concept - created by CANAL + Events, WARNER 360 and LAGARDERE Active – skiers have the chance to see breathtaking performances amid equally memorable settings.

Just before each concert, festival-goers will be on standby for a text message telling them the location of the latest secret venue to be built overnight; then they will have to get their skis on to get to there!

For one week only and with a minimum of two performances a day, all 12 French-Swiss resorts* of the Portes du Soleil are going to be buzzing with talk of these exceptional festival dates. Your Portes du Soleil liftpass doubles as your entrance ticket.
