The MTB cross country department Trophy

As part of the Department’s desire to develop cross country MTB, a semi-nocturnal relay race will be organised in Les Gets at the end of this summer.
Guaranteed good fun and a great atmosphere for all participants, both amateurs and professionals.

13th festival of mecanical music
18-19-20 July 2008
This year the Festival is being staged under the theme of ‘mechanical music and pictures’. For three days, the village resonates to the sound of barrel organs. Mechanical music takes over the village’s streets and squares as over 300 musicians gather here from all over Europe.

The "Night of Museums"
On Saturday the 19th of May, come and enjoy a fantastic evening in the heart of Mechanical Music Museum in Les Gets. From 9pm, you will discover some very special and delicate instruments that work very rarely (as the « Phonoliszt Violina », a famous and complicated instrument).
Price adult : 6,50 euros • Free for children under 16 years old.
The MTB Passportes du Soleil
29th-30th june and 1st july 2007
The varying terrain of the MTB Passportes track across the Portes du Soleil is
a challenging mix of freeride, downhill and cross-country for riders of all levels.
The itinerary has been specially chosen to take in magnificent landscapes, excellent
biking combined with stops for delicious refreshments and colourful village life to
ensure a truly unforgettable experience for all MTB riders!
Les Gets is the host venue of the 2007 Passportes Fair where over 40 exhibitors will be present in the heart of the village to show their latest products. Highlights will
include MTB test rides, Trial demonstrations and a range of other events.

Wood festival
From 6th to 8th of July
Les Gets, the “Land where Wood is King”, puts the spotlight on wood from its forests, its uses and the craftsmen who work with a range of fascinating and surprising events and exhibitions.
The “Bille de Bois” festival will be preceded by the “Journées Européennes de la
forêt et du bois de montagne” – an event bringing together people who work with,
in, and round the world of wood in a mountain environment: elected officials,
engineers, researchers, specialist firms etc.
The “Journées de la Forêt de Montagne” aim to promote a better awareness of the
many uses that mountain forests are put to and to enhance the image of wood as a
thoroughly modern material.

Saab Salomon Mountain X Race
On 2nd and 3rd of July
Similar to the well known « Raid Gauloise », The Salomon Mountain X Race gathers the best teams in the world. Numerous adventures are planned; let’s meet in Les Gets for the MTB one.
The 1st Biennial Mechanical Music Festival
21st and 22nd July
Held in alternate years to the Mechanical Music Festival, the next one of which is planned for 2008, this event includes concerts and live shows based around the subject of Mechanical Music, and given in some of the most unusual settings (for example, a "cabaret show" in the museum’s new room, in a disco in the village centre).
« Pass biennal » special offer : includes all the shows (Saturday night dinner included). Unlimited visits of the museum, of the automatons exhibition and unlimited Merry go round sessions.
