NEW PEDESTRIAN AREA IN THE VILLAGE CENTRE
Giving priority to pedestrians and rejecting a “100% cars” policy is the principal focus of Les Gets’ good life-style policy.
After the new central square and its reception area, work in the main road are today nearly finished. You could now take advantage of the new wide pavements without having to give way to drivers.
Being able to stroll along safely is the ideal solution for families in quest of relaxation and tranquillity.
These actions, leading towards a sustainable development, are part of the 2003/2013 Village Project.
As a reminder, Les Gets is a member of the "Alpine Pearls" Association regrouping around 20 resorts in Europe, with a commitment to improve transports while respecting the environment. This association provides an exchange of experiences and know-how with our Europeen neighbours like Switzerland, for example, that are already considering alternative means of transport (trains, coaches, mountain railways) and helps find solutions to satisfy the tourist of the future.
