Operation Zero Waste Mountain

In partnership with the "Mountain Riders" association and the "Tartif" caterer, the commune is once again mobilising for its traditional mountain waste clean-up operation.

We're inviting residents, associations and anyone who cares about protecting our environment to join us.

If we all work together, we can minimise the impact of rubbish left in nature and preserve our mountains!

Program of the day :

9:00 am - Meeting point in the porch of the Maison des Gets
Participants will be welcomed with coffee, tea and pastries. Bin bags and gloves are provided for safe waste collection.)

9.15am to 9.30am - Briefing and departure for the litter hunt!
Collection areas will be determined for each group. Those who wish to do so can be taken by mini bus to the most remote areas.

From 11am - Characterisation of the collected waste
To reduce pollution, you need to know about it! A team from the "Mountains Riders" association will be present to help us sort and classify the waste collected into 8 major families, which will be weighed and their volume estimated: plastic, metal, wood, paper and cardboard, household waste, cigarette butts, textiles, rubber, glass and ceramics. This stage allows the development of actions to reduce this waste at source.

From 12.30pm - Meal offered to all participants.
Tartiflette offered by the caterer "TARTIF"; cold meats, drinks and desserts offered by the Municipality of Les Gets.
