The joys of the mountains in winter are not limited to snow sports.<\/p>\n

Hiking and snowshoe trekking are increasingly popular with holidaymakers seeking peace, quiet and wide open spaces.<\/strong><\/p>\n

A snowshoe hike is the promise of discovering unspoilt natural settings without too much effort, of admiring grandiose panoramas far from the crowds on the slopes, of walking on powdery and virgin snow, of hearing, and perhaps seeing, the local fauna at the turn of a wood or an alpine pasture.<\/p>\n

With family or friends, on your own or accompanied by a guide, you can try your hand at snowshoeing on the resort’s trails. The more seasoned skiers can try to reach the surrounding mountain peaks for more sporting hikes.  <\/p>\n

You’ve never done snowshoeing before?<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n\n

Don’t panic… The practice is simple, accessible, does not require any specific preparation or too expensive equipment. This activity is suitable for all levels and all ages, you just have to modulate the duration and intensity of your itinerary according to your shape.<\/p>\n

Les Gets mountain guides<\/strong> will teach you all the secrets of snowshoeing, with the added bonus of discovering the local fauna and perhaps some nice powder slides!<\/p>\n

You can easily rent your snowshoes in one of the many equipment hire shops in Les Gets<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

In order to continue to appreciate the unique environment that the mountains offer us, here are some good practices to be respected during your mountain activities:<\/p>\n

  • Throw your rubbish in the bins or keep it in your bag.<\/li>\n
  • Use pocket ashtrays (free from lift offices).<\/li>\n
  • Only take one walking map for your stay.<\/li>\n
  • Do not take unmarked paths and tracks as this disturbs the wildlife.<\/li>\n
  • Respect the wildlife : Don\u2019t leave the marked tracks and keep your dog on a lead.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n
