{"id":2906,"date":"2020-04-28T11:28:41","date_gmt":"2020-04-28T09:28:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/les-gets.votre-projet.com\/our-eco-actions\/"},"modified":"2025-10-29T17:20:33","modified_gmt":"2025-10-29T16:20:33","slug":"our-eco-actions","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.lesgets.com\/en\/discover-the-resort\/ecotourism\/our-eco-actions\/","title":{"rendered":"Our eco-actions"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"block block-core-spacer\">\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<p>In order to increase our clients\u2019 awareness regarding the protection of our mountain environment, many actions have been taken over the past few years at the village and ski area level, in winter and summer.<\/p>\n\n<div class=\"block block-core-spacer\">\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"block block-core-heading\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"eco-friendly-transports\">Eco-friendly transports<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n\n<ul>\n<li><b>Semi-pedestrianized area<\/b> : closure of the rue du centre on certain days.<\/li>\n<li><b>Resort bus services :<\/b> inter-city shuttles, Balad\u2019Aulps Bus\u2019 Line serving the valley, little trains to get around in winter and visit the tourist attractions in summer. Night shuttle bus available from 8pm to midnight, 7 days\/week during the season. The disposable 1-3 day lift-pass are replaced by a flexible hands-free card that clients can put in special collection bins after use. They are recycled to provide new lift passes.<\/li>\n<li>An annual <b>rubbish-collection day<\/b> over the ski area<\/li>\n<li><b>Biodegradable oil<\/b> for piste bashers<\/li>\n<li>Purchase of guaranteed<strong> \u2018eco-cups\u2019 for events.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<div class=\"block block-core-spacer\">\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"block block-core-heading\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"governance\">Governance<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n\n<ul>\n<li><b>Environmental charters : <\/b>an environmental charter for accommodation providers, highlighting the most ecologically responsible has been introduced.<\/li>\n<li><b>Involvement of local services and businesses : <\/b>local services and businesses helps in preserving the environment : geothermal systems, heat pumps, organic wines, local produce, organic products used for ski maintenance.<\/li>\n<li><b>Re-turfing of the summer activity area. <\/b>This protects the ground from erosion, integrates the pistes with the natural countryside, helps stabilise the snow cover and encourages biodiversity.<\/li>\n<li><b>Participation in European and environmental initiatives<\/b> in conjunction with partners such as l\u2019Ademe, Priorieterre, Mountain Riders, Clim\u2019Alp Tour, The University of Savoie Mont Blanc \u2026<\/li>\n<li><b>Creation of eco-events<\/b> : preservation of host sites, provisioning with local products, use of recycled paper or PEFC, waste sorting, shows and events on the theme of the environment &#8230; like the Four Elements Festival&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<div class=\"block block-core-spacer\">\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"block block-core-heading\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"water\">Water<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n\n<ul>\n<li>Rigorous <strong>water management<\/strong>, hillside reservoir reserved for drinking water.<\/li>\n<li>Inventories and action plan for the <strong>preservation of wetlands<\/strong> present on the ski area.<\/li>\n<li>Summer earthworks so that the ground is gradually sloping and the snow cover is more regular. The aim is to <strong>reduce the work of tampers<\/strong> and the production of artificial snow.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Re-surfacing of the ski area in the summer:<\/strong> protection of the soil against erosion, integration of the slopes into the landscape, better fixation of the snow cover, restoration of biodiversity&#8230;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-banniere\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1920\" height=\"1080\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lesgets.com\/app\/uploads\/2020\/05\/LesGets_2015_RetenueCollinaire_BenjaminHutter_01-1920x1080.jpg\" alt=\"Prairie et montagnes en \u00e9t\u00e9 avec retenue collinaire en fond\" class=\"wp-image-10734\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n<div class=\"block block-core-spacer\">\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"block block-core-heading\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"nature\">Nature<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n\n<ul>\n<li><b>A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lesgets.com\/en\/discover-the-resort\/environment-eco-tourism\/protection-of-the-black-grouse\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">protection zone for Black Grouse<\/a><\/b> has been established with signposting explaining the protected species.\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>The Lo\u00ebx plateau, a protected natural area with restricted access<\/strong>: The Lo\u00ebx plateau forms a superb natural ensemble, both in terms of landscape and biology. The NATURA 2000 classified site concerns 3 communes, Les Gets, Taninges and Verchaix and covers an area of 1233 ha. In order to preserve it, access to the reinforced protection zone for the capercaillie is forbidden from 1st January to 15th May and during the snowy season.\n<\/li>\n<li>Creation of a &#8220;life-size&#8221; vegetable garden in the summer, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lesgets.com\/en\/blog\/apidae\/pere-delavays-botanical-garden\/\">the P\u00e8re Delavay botanical garden<\/a>.<br>\n<\/strong><p><\/p>\n<p><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>The Chablais region has joined the <b>European Geopark programme<\/b>, a UNESCO initiative. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lesgets.com\/en\/discover-the-resort\/environment-eco-tourism\/our-environment-labels\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Geopark <\/a><\/strong>is an area with a rich geological heritage and a site of ecological, historical and cultural interest. Holiday makers and locals alike can come to the site to learn about the local geology. The Georoute circuit is an important part of the Geopark. It is a walking route linking 20 of the most interesting geological sites where visitors can learn about the geology specific to the region, as they walk.\n<p><strong>Les Gets is a site with a rich geological identity.<\/strong> The peatlands educational circuit is located close to the wet lands by the Lac des Ecoles.
