In a hamlet in the village of Les Gets, two passionate sisters have turned their love of the land and crafts into a true art of living. Potters Anouk and Nathalie Bonhomme open the doors to their creative world.
An authentic manufacturing workshop
Anouk and Nathalie opened their pottery studio in 2008. They create each piece with their expert hands. Their collaboration works seamlessly: Anouk throws and shapes the pieces, then Nathalie decorates them, bringing her artistic touch to life.
They design practical pottery for both individuals and professionals, with the clear goal of offering objects designed for everyday use.
The transmission of a passion
The desire to share their expertise naturally prompted Anouk and Nathalie to open their doors to the public. Their workshop now offers a diverse range of creative activities:
- Pottery Turning: Monday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
- Ceramic Modeling and Decorating: Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
- Watercolor: Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
- Flower Candle: Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (New this summer, presented by a special guest)
These small-group workshops allow visitors to discover artisanal techniques in a friendly atmosphere. Whether you come alone or with a child, these creative moments offer a unique family experience. Of course, everyone leaves with their own creations!
For those who simply want to discover the art of pottery, free tours are available. The little train travels to the workshop on Wednesday mornings in the summer. Visitors can learn about the craft, the long production process, and watch wheel-throwing demonstrations. As Nathalie says: “That way, all the secrets are revealed!”

Anouk: between land and pastures
Beyond her talent as a potter, Anouk is also a shepherd! She owns a flock of suckler ewes. Although she doesn’t make cheese, her livestock follows a natural cycle. Lambing occurs in February, and live lambs are sold in April or May, once weaned. These young animals then serve as “ecological lawnmowers,” a sustainable approach to maintaining green spaces.
Anouk also boarders around sixty heifers from the Annecy area. These cows contribute to the upkeep of private land, ski slopes, and municipal mountain pastures. This pastoral activity plays a crucial role in preserving the open spaces of the commune of Les Gets, offering hikers vibrant nature and preserved biodiversity.
The workshop also houses chickens whose fresh eggs will soon be sold directly in the pottery shop.
The Pottery Festival: an unmissable event
For the seventh consecutive year, the pottery sisters are organizing their flagship event: the Pottery Festival. This year, it will take place on the evening of July 26th and all day on July 27th in the magical setting of the hamlet of La Sarre.
The 2025 theme, “At the Table!”, will be reflected in a multitude of activities: conferences, children’s workshops, dining areas, concerts, and moments of contemplation overlooking the exceptional landscapes of Les Gets. The two sisters fully express their commitment to the friendly, family-oriented spirit of this festival.
This event emphasizes local and traditional values, featuring stalls run by people involved in small-scale farming. This approach creates a true village festival that harmoniously brings together Gêtois residents and tourists in a spirit of sharing and discovery.
All workshops at this event are free. Anouk and Nathalie are particularly keen on one detail: their raffle benefits France Alzheimer, a cause deeply dear to their hearts.
An invitation to discovery
Potters Anouk and Nathalie Bonhomme perfectly embody the creative and generous spirit of Les Gets. Their workshop is not just a production facility, but a true living space where artisanal traditions and the transmission of knowledge intertwine.
Whether you’re an art lover, a nature enthusiast, or simply curious to discover authentic craftsmanship, the Poterie des Gets awaits you for a unique experience in the heart of the French Alps.
The Bonhomme sisters look forward to welcoming you for all these moments of sharing and discovery!
