The Grande Odyssée 2021 stopped in Les Gets

For this 17th edition, Les Gets hosted the 3rd stage of the Grande Odyssée Savoie Mont Blanc on 12 January 2021 under a thick white coat ! The stage was presented by the Caisse d’Epargne Rhône – Alpes.

The 3rd alpine stage represented 32 kilometers and 1,200 meters of positive gain with very good snow condition. The starting signal was given on the ski area located just above La Maison des Gets. The first 16 kilometers loop took the mushers to the Col de Ranfolly (1,650 meters height), then on the Col de Joux Plane summer road and finally on Nordic golf area trails. These 16 kilometers loop has been made twice before reaching the finish line. The visibility was quite good despite the snow falls due to a suitable and strengthened markings. The snow was of good quality although a bit sticky on the second half of the stage.

Race conditions have been changed with the arrival of snowfalls in the morning. However, the teams’ mood has not been altered at all.

Results

The Open Category title holder on today’s competition and in the general ranking is Remy Coste, Christian Perlwitz takes the first place on the podium for the Limited Category of this 3rd stage, while Cindy Duport stays first in the general classification.

Finally, it was the last day of competition for the Flexadin Trophee which was won by Aurelie Delattre.
