FFC French Snow Bike Championships in Les Gets

An adrenalin-packed weekend of extreme snow sports on 3 & 4 February 2024

This winter, Les Gets is gearing up to host a sporting event of a different kind. See you on 3 & 4 February for the 2nd French Snow Bike Championships, where MTB enthusiasts and professionals come together.

Snow Bike is a cycling discipline inspired by downhill skiing. Many of the participants are mountain bikers or skiers already well familiar with the buzz of riding and snow sports. Snowbikers ride down ski runs on mountainbikes preferably equipped with studded tyres for better grip. The sport offers a fantastic mix of riding and downhill thrills, making it fun and exhilarating.

Eric Barone, former Downhill MTB Masters World Champion and holder of the snowbiking speed record at 227.72 km/h, is behind this growth in popularity in France. Expect to hear a lot more yet about this sport combining pedalling and downhill skills that takes to the slopes in winter! Alongside the competitions, various cycling activities (Nordic MTB outings and snow garden with balance bikes for kids) will complete this sportingly festive weekend in a leading mountain resort for this sport … in summertime!

This first motorless winter sport… is poised to make a big splash in Les Gets. See you in 2024!
