Forecasts for the next 15 days

The week from 11/01/2021 to 17/01/2021 : The cold front will approach the north of the Alps on Tuesday afternoon, producing active snow degradation accompanied by gust of wind, which greatly increases the risk of avalanches in the mountains. The weather, cold at the beginning of the week, will turn warmer from the north-west with the arrival of slight oceanic disturbances.

The week from 18/01/2021 to 24/01/2021 : The week should be most often disturbed, with winds generally coming from the north-west, alternating rainy passages and periods of calm. Due to significant uncertainties in the forecasts, there is no preferred scenario for temperatures for this week at the moment.

Forecasts for January 2021

The weather trend for January should get closer to seasonal normals with a first cold period at the beginning of the month and a second at the end of the month but the latter is not yet very reliable.

A slightly milder period could be interspersed in the middle of the month, offsetting the thermal deficit at the beginning of January. It should be noted that with the passage of disturbances and cold flows, episodes of snow at low altitude or even in the plains will be possible, especially in the first half of the month.
