Moudon Chapel
Les Gets’ first religious building, once surrounded by a cemetery. This small chapel under the patronage of St Théodule was built in the Middle Ages and restored in 1651. This date can be found on an original stone above the portal. At its centre is a huge bell weighing 194kg. It was bought and blessed to ward off storms and evil spirits. The people of Gêton were great believers in the powers of this bell from Moudon: it was rung every time there was a storm to protect their farmland. In fact, the inhabitants of the Côte d’Arbroz used to complain about the storms it repelled.

Church of Notre-Dame de la Nativité
Rebuilt in 1895, only the bell tower remains. Located in the same place as the previous church dating from the end of the 15th century, it has been moved slightly to the right so that its portal opens onto the main road. This neo-Gothic marvel is home to a number of incredible works that are well worth a visit!

Chapel Notre-Dame de Lourdes
Built in 1871 by the Reverend Father Joseph Marie Delavay, this chapel was intended to ask the Virgin of Les Mouilles to protect and cure his brother from the plague: Father Jean-Marie Delavay. Born in Les Gets in 1834, Jean-Marie Delavay was a priest and botanist. After joining the Foreign Missions in Paris, he was sent on a mission to China, where he spent a great deal of time on botanical research. Despite the difficulties of communication between the two countries, he sent his findings to the Museum d’Histoire Naturelles in Paris, where more than 200,000 plants are currently listed by the priest.

Mont Caly mountain pasture
Known for its breathtaking views of the Mont Blanc massif, it is one of the village’s important mountain pastures. During the summer season, Gêtois farmers take their animals to graze in order to obtain better quality milk. At the time, they lived in the farmhouses, now holiday homes.
