Thursday 20 August 2026 DH Finals in Les Gets: Aletha Ostgaard and Jonty Williamson DHI – UCI Mountain Bike World Cup

The sun is back in Les Gets for the big day of the downhill finals! After hellish conditions on Friday, characterised by rain and a particularly slippery and demanding course, the riders were greeted by sunnier conditions on Saturday 22 August as they set off on the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup DH course.

And to kick off this decisive day, it was the turn of the Junior Women and Men, welcomed by a crowd already in full swing along the course. The atmosphere was every bit as intense as the stakes, with the weekend’s first victories up for grabs!

In the Junior Women’s category, Aletha Ostgaard has once again demonstrated that she is particularly at home on the Les Gets track.

Having already been the fastest in Thursday’s timed training and Friday’s qualifiers, the Canyon DH Racing rider sealed the deal in the final with a run of 4:19.316 to clinch victory.

Behind her, France’s Cassandre Peizerat put in a superb performance in front of her home crowd. The COMMENCAL Muc-Off By Riding Addiction rider finished second in 4:25.781, 6.465 seconds behind the winner.

Rosa Marie Jensen completed the podium in 4:31.558, whilst Gianna Nef and Zanna Logar took fourth and fifth places respectively.

In the Junior Men’s category, the suspense lasted right until the very end!

Jonty Williamson clocked the winning run in 3:42.648 whilst riding for the Yeti / Fox Factory Race Team. But it wasn’t until the very last moment that the winner was revealed, such was the razor-thin margin over Malik Boatwright.

Continental Atherton rider Malik Boatwright fell just 0.236 seconds short of victory with a time of 3:42.884.

Behind this extremely close battle, Elliot Smith took third place on the podium, 2.392 seconds behind. Kasper Hickman took fourth place and Seppy Binsbergen rounded off the top five.

DHI World Cup Final, Les Gets The tone has been set for this day of finals

With the sun back out, a course still bearing the marks of the previous day’s bad weather, and a crowd already in full swing, the Juniors got this big day of finals in Les Gets off to a perfect start.

Two superb races, a commanding victory for Aletha Ostgaard in the Women’s event and a head-to-head battle decided by just 236 thousandths of a second in the Men’s: the tone has been set!

Now it’s time for the Elite Women’s and Men’s finals, with plenty more spectacular runs expected on the Les Gets downhill course.
