Thursday 20 August 2026 Junior Qualifying Results DHI – UCI Mountain Bike World Cup

Following the Elite category qualifiers, it was the Juniors’ turn on the Les Gets downhill course! On Friday 21 August, the young riders competing in the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup took to the course for their qualifying runs.

In the Junior Women’s category, Aletha Ostgaard confirmed her speed, whilst Elliot Smith clocked the fastest time in the Junior Men’s category.

Aletha Ostgaard confirms her form in the Junior Women’s event

Having already topped the timed training session on Thursday, Aletha Ostgaard confirmed her fine form on the Les Gets course by setting the fastest time in qualifying with a run of 5:02.334.

Behind her, Cassandre Peizerat put in a superb performance for the French team. She took second place in 5:06.693, 4.359 seconds behind the leader.

Rosa Marie Jensen rounded off the top three in 5:18.136, followed by Indy Deavoll and Tayte Proulx-Royds.

Men’s Juniors Results of the Junior Men’s Qualifying Rounds

Elliot Smith takes the lead in the Junior Men’s event
In the Men’s Juniors, Elliot Smith proved to be the fastest in this qualifying session with a time of 4:09.565.

He finished ahead of Jonty Williamson, who was second in 4:12.715, 3.150 seconds behind, whilst Malik Boatwright rounded off the provisional podium, 5.038 seconds off the fastest time.

Briek Van Duyse and Kasper Hickman round off the top five, with the gaps between them already beginning to indicate the pecking order ahead of the decisive runs.

The Juniors are ready for the next stage

With Aletha Ostgaard and Elliot Smith leading the qualifying rounds, the first trends are emerging in the Junior categories.

France’s Cassandre Peizerat, second in the Women’s category, remains ideally placed for the next stage, whilst the gaps in the Men’s category still leave the door open to a range of possible outcomes.

The pressure is now mounting ahead of the next runs on the Les Gets downhill course, where the young riders will have to prove their speed when it counts most.
