Start of the 15th stage of the Tour de France in Les Gets

Between Lake Geneva and Mont Blanc, Les Gets will be the starting town for the Tour de France 2023 for the first time in its history. On Sunday 16 July, the 15th stage will take place in Saint Gervais Mont Blanc. A 180 km route awaits the riders, who will pass through Cluses, Bonneville, Annecy-le-Vieux, Faverges and Megève.

Saturday 15 July 2023

🚴 Passing through of Stage 14 of the Tour de France (Annemasse-Morzine)

A FAN ZONE is being set up at Col du Ranfolly (on the road to Joux Plane, at the top of the Nauchets chairlift) for the occasion. You will be able to watch the entire Stage 14 of the Tour de France on a giant screen, with a refreshment bar, food and entertainment provided by our partner Cube.

The programme of events:
Noon: Opening of the fan zone
3.30 pm: The Tour’s publicity caravan passes through
5.00 pm: Estimated time when the 1st rider will pass
5.30 pm: The broom wagon passes through

How to get to the FAN ZONE from the centre of Les Gets:
To go up ➡️ TSD des Chavannes ski lift (9h-17h30), then a 10-minute walk. Special Tour de France price for the lift: €5 for the ascent. The lift is free with the Multi Pass Portes du Soleil.
To come back down ➡️ The chairlift cannot be used on the way down, so you have to walk 20 minutes to catch the Chavannes cable car (10h-18h30), which takes you into the centre of Les Gets. The cable car costs €5 for the ascent and is free on the way down.

Following the departure of Stage 15 of the Tour de France in Les Gets, you will be able to watch the entire stage on a giant screen behind the Maison des Gets !

The programme:
9.30am: Start of the entertainment on the signature podium
11.05am: Start of the Tour Caravan
13.05pm: Start of the stage

Practical information

Parking 🅿️

Secure cycle parking – Sundays only:
➡️ Parking Pressenage (opposite the Mont-Chéry cable car)
In partnership with the Tour de France and AG2R, you can take advantage of free, secure, guarded parking.

Visitor car parks :
➡️ Parking des Plans (Taninges side) – all weekend long
➡️ Parking des P’teaux (Morzine side) – all weekend long
➡️ Route des Chavannes from Saturday 15 July 2023 at 8.00 am until 8.00 pm only on the right-hand side in the downhill direction

Campervans and converted vehicles – from Friday 14/07 at 12.00 to Sunday 16/07 at 18.00
➡️ Plateau des Chavannes
⚠️ No descent via the route des Chavannes on Sunday 16 July from 9.00 am to 6.00 pm

Traffic 🚘

➡️ Route des Grandes Alpes : Morzine – Les Gets
No traffic on Sunday 16 July from 6.00 am to 3.00 pm. Two free shuttle buses leave Morzine at the “Le Pléney” shuttle bus stop and run to the entrance to Les Gets at the Colombière roundabout from 7.00am to 5.00pm (approximately every 15 minutes).

➡️ Route des Grandes Alpes : Taninges – Les Gets
No traffic on Sunday 16 July from 7.30am to 3pm.
ATTENTION: Access to ancillary streets and paths will be affected (consult the by-law to find out which roads are affected).

➡️ Route du front de neige, Rue du centre, Rue de l’ancienne fruitières and Rue du Vieux village (from chemin de carry to Route des Chavannes):
No traffic from Saturday 15 July at 5pm to Sunday 16 July at 8pm.

➡️ Rue du Vieux village (from the Museum to the Route des Chavannes) and access to the Route des Chavannes:
Saturday 15 July from 5.00 p.m. to 9.00 p.m.: no climbing at Les Chavannes
Saturday 15 July 9.00 pm to Sunday 16 July 6.00 am: alternating traffic
Sunday 16 July: no traffic from 6.00 am to 6.00 pm

➡️ Consult the full municipal by-law or the map of the village above to see all the roads closed to traffic.

Other practical information 📍

➡️ Public transport :
Due to the closure of several traffic lanes, the free Les Gets Bus shuttles and the petits-trains will not run on Sunday 16 July 2023. On Saturday 15 July the service will be disrupted on line A (Route des Chavannes not served), and the service will end at 4pm for both lines.

➡️ Shuttles Morzine – Les Gets : Two free shuttle buses leave Morzine at the “Le Pléney” shuttle bus stop and run to the entrance to Les Gets at the Colombière roundabout from 7.00am to 5.00pm (approximately every 15 minutes).

➡️ Les Getslib’:
It will be possible to use Getslib’ throughout the weekend. Only the Marais car park station will be inaccessible from 15 to 16 July inclusive.

➡️ Ski lifts and Bikepark:
The ski lifts and Bikepark will operate normally on Sunday 16 July.
