Why take a mountain biking course in Les Gets?

To progress in Les Gets is to benefit from the expertise of enthusiasts who know every root and every bend of the Bikepark. A qualified mountain bike instructor ensures that you :

  • Gain confidence: Learn to ride the slopes and modules in complete safety.
  • Adopt the right reflexes: Positioning, braking, reading the terrain.
  • Maximise your enjoyment: Less fatigue, more thrills, from the very first descent.
FAQ : Your questions about mountain biking courses
  • At what age can you start mountain biking in Les Gets?

From the age of 3 with draisienne sessions. For outings to the Bikepark, schools generally welcome children from the age of 5-6, depending on their ability.

  • Do I need a special bike for the lessons?

It all depends on the course: for an introductory course, a classic mountain bike in good condition will suffice. For a downhill course, a full-suspension bike (DH or Enduro) with high-performance disc brakes is essential. The schools can advise you on rental.

  • What happens if it rains?

Mountain biking is an outdoor sport! Courses are generally maintained. It’s the perfect opportunity to learn how to ride on slippery, greasy terrain, a key skill for any good rider.

  • Do I need to already know how to cycle to take on an instructor?

Not necessarily for toddlers. For adults and older children, we recommend that you already know how to pedal and keep your balance on a road or flat path before tackling the mountain environment.
