Route description

This route takes in the wide horizons before a refreshing dip in the forest.

  • The ridge line: As soon as you get off the Chavannes Express chairlift, take the wide paths towards Le Pléney. Don’t miss the orientation table to identify the surrounding peaks.
  • The crossroads of the valleys : Continue towards the Nabord sector. This is where you truly “straddle” the communes of Les Gets and Morzine.
  • The secret of the forest: Shortly afterwards, leave the ski slopes to plunge into the intimacy of a forest path. This path winds gently through the shade of spruce trees until you reach the valley floor.
  • Back to the village: The walk ends quietly along the main road (with a pavement), arriving at a picturesque finish at the foot of the church in Les Gets.

Heritage & Nature

Beyond the effort, this trail tells a story: that of a mountain inhabited and respected by the ancients.

Historically, Morzine was the valley’s most influential administrative and religious centre. However, Les Gets has prospered thanks to its strategic pass and exceptional sunshine. Legend has it that marriages between “Gêtois” and “Morzinois” were once seen as diplomatic alliances between two rival but united mountain powers.
