Route description

This itinerary is mainly forested, offering a refreshing setting and a typically mountain atmosphere.

  1. The forest climb: Start at the foot of the 4 Seasons sledge. Follow the signs for “Le Sincerneret”. At the Chèvre crossroads, fork left towards Guilland, then right to reach the charming hamlet of Le Sincerneret.
  2. The pastoral transition: Continue slightly uphill on the tarmac road to Plan des Troncs. Here, the landscape opens up before plunging back into the action: turn left onto the forest track that leads directly to La Turche.
  3. Back on the trails: From the hamlet of La Turche, start downhill on the grassy ski run (a very visual area in summer). Continue as far as Les Puthays, then fork left to complete your route and return to the toboggan starting point.

Heritage & Nature

The scenery through which you pass is not only beautiful, it is also steeped in secrets and age-old traditions:

  • Etymology of La Turche: In Savoyard dialect, a “turche” was a tree stump or a piece of land strewn with roots after a clearing. This name is a living testimony to the titanic efforts of the ancients to transform the forest into pastureland.
  • Hameau du Sincerneret: This is a former summer pasture. The name evokes the deep agricultural roots of Les Gets, a time when families would come up here during the summer months to herd their flocks as close as possible to the fresh grass.
