Route description

This itinerary has a very gentle profile, ideal for walkers of all ages.

  1. Departure from the peaks: Go to the arrival point of the Mont Chéry cable car and start your descent along the tarmac road closed to traffic, in the direction of Lassare.
  2. The direct route: At the Plan Bôdit crossroads (upstream), leave the main road and follow the direct route straight to the hamlet of Lassare.
  3. The Longues Poses balcony: After crossing the hamlet and walking a few kilometres along the road towards Les Gets, don’t miss the path that goes straight off at the hairpin bend. This panoramic balcony path offers splendid views towards Les Longues Poses.
  4. Back to the village: The walk ends on a pleasant downhill path that winds through the slopes to take you straight back to the gondola departure point in the centre of the village.

Orientation table” option: As soon as you leave the gondola, take a short 100-metre round trip to the Belvedere orientation table to identify the giants of the Alps before starting the walk.

Heritage & Nature

Make the most of your breaks to observe the traces of the past and the skills you will learn along the way:

  • La Poterie à Lassare: This hamlet is home to a unique and totally atypical place: a pottery workshop. Here, a passion for the land is combined with a delicate handcrafting of white stoneware and traditional sheep rearing. It’s a rare and warm immersion in the arts and crafts of our mountains.

With 385 metres of ascent and only 11 metres of descent, this outing is the key to getting children to love walking. To complete the experience, plan your walk to coincide with the opening hours of the Lassare pottery workshop. It’s the perfect opportunity to take home a unique souvenir, hand-crafted in the very heart of the Mont Chéry massif!
