Immerse yourself in the raw intensity of Mont Chéry. A legendary black run where the vertiginous slope and roots won’t let you rest until the finish.

Located on the most demanding side of Les Gets, the Dans le Gaz run lives up to its name. Reserved for adrenalin-seeking expert riders, it features a 1.8km descent with a constant steep slope and particularly selective terrain.

The route alternates between massive root sections in the undergrowth and technical jumps that demand total commitment. Unlike the smoother trails on the Chavannes slope, the emphasis here is on ‘old-fashioned’ riding: you need to be able to hold your bike on the slope while anticipating the sometimes slippery trajectories. This is the benchmark route for testing your endurance and braking technique on one of the most direct gradients in the resort.

Expert advice

The “Chéry” tip: On this track, braking management is crucial to avoid running out of steam before the end. Don’t hang on to the levers: look for flat areas or natural supports to release the pressure and let your suspension breathe. Be careful: Mont Chéry faces due south; in very dry weather, the dust can make the roots even more treacherous. A cautious reconnaissance is always advisable!
